Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts
  • 1½ tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Optional: ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  • Rinse the Brussels sprouts and pat them completely dry with a clean towel.
  • Trim the stem ends and remove any yellow or loose outer leaves.
  • Cut large sprouts in half; quarter very large ones so they cook evenly.
  • Place the sprouts in a large bowl. Add olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss until evenly coated.
  • Arrange the sprouts in a single layer in the air fryer basket, cut-side down when possible. Do not overcrowd the basket.
  • Air fry at 375°F for 12–14 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • For extra browning, increase the temperature to 400°F for the final 2–3 minutes.
  • Transfer the Brussels sprouts to a serving bowl. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top.
  • Add Parmesan cheese, maple syrup, or parsley if desired. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

Dry the Brussels sprouts very well before air frying; excess moisture can make them steam instead of crisp.
Use a light coating of olive oil—just enough to coat, not soak, the sprouts.
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed.
Add fresh garlic during the last 2–3 minutes so it becomes fragrant without burning.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to restore crispness.
