Prep the Ingredients
Scrub ginger and turmeric well; peel only if skin is very tough or dirty.
Roughly chop ginger and turmeric into small pieces.
Peel lemons and orange, removing most of the bitter white pith; discard seeds.
Blend the Mixture
Add chopped ginger, turmeric, peeled lemons, and orange to a blender.
Pour in 1½ cups water, add black pepper, and cayenne and sweetener if using.
Blend on high for 1 minute, rest for 30–60 seconds, then blend again for another 30–60 seconds until very smooth.
Strain the Juice
Place a fine mesh strainer, cheesecloth, or nut‑milk bag over a bowl or large measuring jug.
Pour the blended mixture through the strainer.
Press with a spoon or squeeze the cloth/bag to extract as much liquid as possible.
Discard the pulp or save it for smoothies.
Bottle and Chill
Transfer the strained liquid to a glass jar or bottle with a lid.
Taste and adjust with extra lemon, water, or sweetener if desired.
Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Serve the Shots
Shake the jar well before each use (turmeric can settle).
Pour 1 small shot (about 30–45 ml) and drink straight, or dilute with a little water or coconut water if too strong.
Enjoy 1 shot per day, preferably in the morning.
