Ingredients

  • Citrus Juice Base
  • 2 cups 480 ml fresh orange juice (about 4–5 oranges)
  • 1 cup 240 ml fresh grapefruit juice (about 1–2 grapefruits)
  • ½ cup 120 ml fresh lime juice (about 4–5 limes)
  • ¼ cup 60 ml fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • ½ cup 120 ml lemonade concentrate or orange juice concentrate (optional, for extra sweetness)
  • Sparkling Element add just before serving — choose one
  • 2 cups 480 ml ginger ale, chilled (classic, slightly spiced)
  • OR 2 cups 480 ml Sprite, chilled (sweeter, lemon-lime)
  • OR 2 cups 480 ml sparkling water, chilled (less sweet, citrus-forward)
  • OR 2 cups 480 ml Champagne or Prosecco, chilled (cocktail version)
  • Sweetener optional, adjust to taste
  • 2 –4 tbsp simple syrup equal parts sugar and water, stirred until dissolved
  • OR 2 tbsp honey dissolved in 2 tbsp warm water
  • OR skip entirely if using Sprite or sweetened concentrate
  • Garnish
  • 1 orange thinly sliced into rounds
  • 1 lime thinly sliced into rounds
  • 1 lemon thinly sliced into rounds
  • ½ cup fresh raspberries
  • Fresh mint sprigs optional
  • Plenty of ice cubes
  • For Cocktail Version optional
  • 6 –8 oz 180–240 ml vodka, or spirit of choice

Instructions

  • Make the juice base. Juice the oranges, grapefruit, limes, and lemons. Combine in a large pitcher or punch bowl. Add lemonade concentrate or OJ concentrate if using. Stir well.
  • Sweeten to taste. Taste the juice base. Add simple syrup or honey syrup a tablespoon at a time until the sweetness is right for you. If using Sprite or sweetened concentrate, you may not need any extra sweetener.
  • Chill the base. Cover and refrigerate the juice base at least 30 minutes before serving so it is very cold. This keeps the punch fizzy longer once the sparkling liquid is added.
  • Assemble the punch bowl. When ready to serve, pour the chilled juice base into a large punch bowl or pitcher. Add lots of ice cubes.
  • Add sparkle — just before serving. Pour the chilled ginger ale, Sprite, sparkling water, or Champagne over the juice base. Do not stir vigorously — gently stir once or twice to combine and preserve the bubbles.
  • Add cocktail spirit (optional). For a cocktail version, pour in vodka or your chosen spirit and gently stir.
  • Garnish and serve. Float orange, lime, lemon, and grapefruit slices on top. Add fresh raspberries and mint sprigs. Serve immediately over ice in glasses.

Notes

Always add the sparkling element last and just before guests arrive — this is the single most important tip for keeping the punch fizzy throughout the event.
Juice ice ring: Freeze the citrus juice mixture in a bundt pan overnight. Add the frozen ring to the punch bowl instead of regular ice — cools the punch without diluting the flavor as quickly.
Fizzy tip: Keep extra bottles of soda in the fridge and add fresh soda to the punch bowl in batches as the party goes on rather than adding it all at once.
For a crowd: Multiply the juice base as needed; maintain the ratio of approximately 2 parts citrus juice to 1 part sparkling liquid. Taste and sweeten before scaling up.
Sugared glass rims: Dip glass rims in lime juice then into granulated sugar before pouring for a sparkling, festive touch.
Herbal infusion: Add fresh rosemary or mint sprigs to the punch bowl for a sophisticated aromatic garnish.
Holiday twist: Add ½ cup fresh cranberries to the garnish for a festive red pop of color.
Low-sugar version: Use freshly squeezed juice only (no concentrate), choose plain sparkling water, and sweeten lightly with honey syrup.
